Volunteering experience at the Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona

The MIM student Mayssa Allani, Class 2017-2019, has recently volunteered to the Towards Zero Waste initiative during the 7th edition of Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC) held in Barcelona from 13 to 15 November 2017.

Towards Zero Waste is an initiative launched at Smart City Expo World Congress in 2015 and it aims at reducing waste and increasing the efficient use of resources in order to maintain sustainable cities.

In exchange for her collaboration, Mayssa was offered access to the SCEWC Congress area where she attended conferences and inspirational talks which served as a networking platform to share research, best practices and commomn objectives to develop smarter and more sustainable cities around the world.

The Congress brought together over 18.000 attendees and 400 global influencers, speakers and innovators to share knowledge, debate common challenges faced by cities nowadays, and to work to inspire a worldwide call for action.
