Giuseppe Sciortino

PhD in sociology and social policy at the Università di Bologna, is currently full professor at Università di Trento. He has been visiting professor at Haverford College, Royal university of Phnom Penh and Yale University. His main research interests are migration studies, migration policy and social theory. He is the director of SMMS, the migration research center at the Università di Trento. He has published widely on migration issues, particularly regarding irregular migration systems, European migration policies and integration processes. Among his most recent works, Foggy Social Structures. Irregular Migration, European Labour Markets and the Welfare State, (Amsterdam UP, 2011, with Michael Bommes) and Solidarity, Justice and Incorporation (Oxford UP, 2015, with Peter Kivisto).
